About Me

Hi, I’m Paris, the founder of Dorée Gelato. I’ve always been drawn to the places where food, people, and the land come together. My love for this world began when I was just ten years old, during a family trip to Sonoma, California. I remember standing at the edge of the vineyard at Benziger Winery, looking out over what seemed like endless rows of vines, completely captivated by the beauty of the golden sunset and the people gathered there. Everyone seemed to be smiling, enjoying themselves, and simply appreciating the moment. I didn’t know it then, but that experience would shape the rest of my life. I went on to study Viticulture & Enology at Cornell University, with a minor in Business and Beverage Management, and gained hands on experience working in vineyards and wineries in France, Spain and on Long Island. Along the way, I discovered that what I loved most wasn’t just the product. It was the land, the craft, the hospitality, and the experiences that bring people together.

Dorée was born from that same feeling. What started as a dream of one day having a gelato shop at my own winery became a gelato cart designed to travel to life’s sweetest occasions. I make gelato inspired by the place I call home, using ingredients from North Fork farms and New York producers whenever I can. I believe gelato can be more than dessert. It can be a celebration, a memory, a little moment of joy. Whether it’s served at a wedding, a birthday, or a beautiful summer evening with friends, my hope is that Dorée makes people smile, brings them together, and leaves them with something sweet to remember.

The inspiration behind the name Dorée goes all the way back to my origins. Dorée means “golden” in French, a little nod to those golden sunsets glowing behind the vines that first made me fall in love with this world all those years ago. It felt like the perfect name for something built around the same warmth, beauty, and joy that inspired me from the very beginning. And I certainly don’t do it all alone. My partner, Christian, is almost always right beside me. He is the muscles behind Dorée, pushing the cart, doing all the heavy lifting, and helping make every event come together. You can usually find him behind the cart scooping gelato in a bow tie and suspenders, looking much more dapper than the job requires (but I know he secretly loves getting dressed up, even though he would never admit it). Dorée is a dream that started with a ten year old girl staring out over a vineyard, but it has grown into something I get to share with the people I love, and hopefully, with you.
